Over 30 years as a professional studio artist, Myron Barnstone actively painted in Spain, Italy, Paris and Japan. Using his GI Bill he studied at Oxford University, Ruskin School of Art. Often over a glass of wine and desert Myron will tell engaging tales of yesteryear. They are the best stories you will hear.
After his daughter was born he moved back to the USA and sought to train the next generation of Artists in the old traditions of Drawing and Design. He also would train them in the Arts and sciences of painting, photography, architectural and sculpture.
In 1977, Myron opened his Art Academy (Barnstone Studios) where he would dedicate the next 34+ years to educating students & professional artists in classical design systems. These traditions have been passed down to him from his drawing master, Percy Horton and developed over a life long pursuit of learning, rigorous training and practical execution.
Myron has been blessed with very intelligent and hardworking apprentices.
Myron Barnstone’s college bound apprentices have won over $4 million dollars in portfolio scholarships to the best art universities.
At nearly 80 years old, Myron is still teaching drawing and design at the Barnstone Studios in Coplay, Pa. Call Myron at 610-261-1030 and visit the school online at BarnstoneStudios.com.
